Welcome To The
MEDICAL SCIENCE LIAISON ASSOCIATION
The Professional Body for MSLs in the UK and Ireland
Dear Members and Friends of the MSLA,
We are pleased to share an exciting development in the evolution of the Medical Science Liaison Association (MSLA).
Since its inception in October 2010, the MSLA has been a community created by MSLs, for MSLs, fostering collaboration, growth, and the exchange of invaluable insights. Over the years, the MSL role has evolved and become a cornerstone in many Life Sciences organisations. In response, the MSLA has naturally shifted to support training, capability building, and career development. However, as a volunteer-led organisation with limited resources, we recognise that other organisations are better equipped to take this mission to the next level.
With this in mind, we are thrilled to announce a partnership between the MSLA and the Life Sciences Access Academy (LSAA), the UK’s leading training platform for the Life Science sector. Through this collaboration, MSLA members will gain access to the LSAA’s extensive resources, including regular educational masterclasses, bespoke training, and the annual conference.
To ensure the MSLA’s core values remain at the heart of this transition, an expanded MSLA committee will join a steering group to shape future content and events. The LSAA’s expertise will not only maintain but elevate the high standards that have defined the MSLA, creating a thriving community for MSLs, aspiring professionals, and future leaders.
Membership Benefits and Next Steps
-
Membership: Will be free for 2025 and pro bono for aspiring MSLs, academics, NHS professionals, and organisations subscribing to the LSAA thereafter.
-
Enhanced Value: Members will benefit from enriched professional development opportunities and connections within the Life Science sector.
-
Transfer Date: The transition occurred on Monday, December 16th, 2024. Current members do not need to take any action.
This partnership reflects a shared commitment to empowering MSLs to excel in their critical roles, offering innovation, expanded services, and a strengthened sense of community. Together, the MSLA and the LSAA will continue to champion the professional growth and success of MSLs across the UK and Ireland.
We look forward to embarking on this journey with you. For further details, please refer to the Q&A section below.
Warm regards,
The MSLA Committee
