Patrina Pellett

MSL Excellence Lead, MSL Mastery

Patrina helps Medical Affairs teams demonstrate their value by improving strategic thinking, communication, and relationship-building skills. If Medical Affairs is struggling to demonstrate value, it’s not because they don’t have a good KPI, it’s because one or more of these skills are lacking.

Her vision for the Medical Affairs Value Blog and Medical Affairs Strategy Hacks YouTube Channel is to help Medical Affairs professionals leverage their advanced knowledge in a business context to:

👉 Be recognized as a strategic thinker in their organization
👉 Achieve their professional goals
👉 Demonstrate their value

PATRINA’S STORY

Patrina loves making things and am pursuing her dream of helping Medical Affairs show their value through content.

She noticed that when she was avoiding doing her work, she would start writing stories or creating infographics, slide decks, videos, eBooks, guides, and graphics and call it “procrasti-creating.”

When she is making useful content, she comes alive. Time morphs and just flies by. This is the only type of work where 4 hours at her desk feels like 2 minutes. She feels completely energized.

This is why she decided to become a full-time content creator.

After working with 100+ Medical Affairs teams over the last 6 years, she noticed a need for improved strategic thinking and business acumen skills.

Most MDs, PhDs, and PharmDs do not receive training in business. She totally gets this. She went directly from her PhD to an industry job and had no idea how business worked.

After a lot of grit, studying, and coaching, she figured out how businesses function and how to apply her big-picture strategic thinking skills. Her favourite thing is sharing this knowledge with other terminal degree folks to help them shine in their organizations.
