Life Science Access Academy delighted by success of its first NHS Conference

[London, 25/04/2024] – Life Science Access Academy, a leading organisation in promoting education and innovation in the Life Sciences sector, was thrilled to hold its first face-to-face NHS conference, “Optimise your Engagement”, on 16 April 2024. The event brought together industry leaders, NHS experts and healthcare professionals to explore how pharma and medtech can work with the NHS to help patient outcomes.

Held at The King’s Fund in central London, the conference provided a unique platform for Life Science professionals to network, discuss, debate and explore the implications of changes within the NHS on industry in this pivotal year for the sector.

Throughout the day, attendees from across the pharma and medtech sector engaged in thought-provoking panel discussions and informative presentations. Topics covered included eco-friendly practices in hospitals, sustainable supply chain management, waste reduction strategies and the integration of renewable energy sources. Attendees at the day-long event were able to network with fellow professionals, fostering valuable connections and collaborations.

Speakers on the day included:

  • Helen Buckingham, Director of Strategy and Operations, Nuffield Trust
  • Mike Farrar, Independent Management Consultant
  • Gail Fortes-Mayer, NHS Commissioner at Place and System

“We are thrilled with the success of ‘Sustainability in Healthcare Made Simple’,” said Ian Chamberlain, co-founder and director at the Life Science Access Academy. “Our goal was to demystify sustainability and demonstrate how we can all make a significant positive impact on the environment without compromising patient care. We believe that the insights and ideas shared during this event will inspire tangible actions across the healthcare industry.”

“We were excited to host ‘Optimise your Engagement,’ where industry leaders and almost 80 people from the Life Science sector came together to explore innovative strategies for partnership with the NHS,” said Ian Chamberlain, co-founder and director at the Life Science Access Academy. “This event underscores our commitment to bridging the gap between life science innovation and patient-centric healthcare delivery.”

Life Science Access Academy plans to build on the success of this event by holding more face-to-face sessions, in addition to its regular programme of online events and e-learning.
