Dr Lisa McCluskey

Company Director, PharmaSig Ltd

Lisa McCluskey graduated a (very) long time ago as a pharmacist, then spent time working in both the NHS and academia before moving into the life sciences industry. She started in medical information and worked as an MSL (Medical Science Liaison), progressing to management and senior leadership, helping to build field and office-based medical teams including MSLs. Lisa’s approach is to ensure that medical teams are valued colleagues, working closely with other departments and truly driving the business.

With a passion for learning after her Masters in Pharmacy, Lisa completed a Masters in Translational Medicine and a PhD in Neuroscience. She found that as a medical affairs manager, many things related to compliance came her way, which encouraged her to complete a long-held plan to obtain an LLB in Law and Legal Practice, something that has really helped in the analyses and understanding of ABPI Code cases.

For the past few years, Lisa has worked as an independent consultant with various clients in the pharmaceutical industry, guiding on various aspects of medical affairs and compliance, and operating as a Medical Final Signatory. She enjoys the highly varied nature of the work, which always keeps her thinking, finding improvements and making sure that compliance is used to drive productivity, not detract from it.
