One of his proudest achievements was leading the award-winning Lead Your Career program, which accelerated professional growth, promoted allyship, and received recognition for excellence in education. These experiences deepened his passion for creating pathways for those navigating workplace challenges.
The Black Sherpa began as a podcast focused on social mobility, career progression, and personal growth. It is now evolving into a platform for tangible change. Along the way, Yam has observed how exclusive workplace cultures, biased hiring practices, and low-impact diversity initiatives can hold back talented individuals. He has also been inspired by those who break through barriers, support others, and drive meaningful change in an environment often fatigued by equity, diversity, and inclusion (ED&I) efforts.
